George Bromberek

George C. Bromberek, age 97, of Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at his home surrounded by family. There will be a Rosary at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, in Beaver Dam, on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:50 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at church at 12:00 noon with Fr. Erick Cassiano officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Beaver Dam. George Clarence Bromberek was born on September 7, 1921 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Michael and Elizabeth (Krueger) Bromberek. On August 1, 1942, he was inducted in the United States Army. He fought during the Battle of Normandy and received numerous decorations. George was honorably discharged on December 10, 1945. On May 10, 1947, George was united in marriage with Ruth Meyer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kingston. They made their home in Beaver Dam and George worked at Kraft Foods in the Sanitation Department. He helped to develop and implement the sanitation process at the time. George was an artist at heart and shared sketches with military families while in the service. He also designed rings that his comrades would send to their loved ones. He would often be puttering around, maintaining his home. George enjoyed drawing, painting, and reading. George was heavily involved with St. Patrick Catholic Church, always making sure it was maintained, and was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish. He was also a 2nd Brew Master at Ziegler’s Brewery, which was something he was proud of. George’s legacy that he leaves behind to his children is that he taught them to respect life from conception to death which has carried on to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors are his children, Linda Lister of Beaver Dam, John Bromberek of Fayetteville, AR, Georgia (Michael) Smith of Beaver Dam, Virginia (Keith) Glasgow of Beaver Dam, Janet LaMartina of Chippewa Falls, Mary Bromberek of Beaver Dam, and Mark (Theresa) Bromberek of Beaver Dam; sister, Elizabeth Brazee of Beaver Dam; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosemary and James Hamer of Montello; 17 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth in 2005; great granddaughter, Anna; and many brothers and sisters. Thank you to all of George’s caretakers, especially Georgine Sumnicht and Betsy Cook, for all of the exceptional care that was given. Memorials may be made in George Bromberek’s name to St. Katharine Drexel – Building for Our Beliefs or Pregnancy Support Center of Dodge County.
