Schwartz, age 92, of Horicon passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Matthews of Horicon.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon on Thursday, May 11 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Petrie presiding. A visitation will take place on Thursday, May 11 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place at Oakhill Cemetery in Horicon. Military honors will be conducted by the Horicon American Legion Post #157.George was born on December 19, 1924 the son of Fred and Anna (Altman) Schwartz in Butternut, Wisconsin. He was united in marriage to Mae Wegner on September 25, 1954 in Horicon. George was a veteran of the US Army and served in Korea. He worked as a machinist for John Deere until his retirement. George was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and also a member of the Horicon American Legion Post #157. He will be fondly remembered for his caring nature and always being there to lend a hand.George is survived by his children-John (Roberta) Schwartz of Horicon, Michael (special friend Lynn Van Epern) Schwartz of Horicon, and Jeffery (Jena) Schwartz of Beaver Dam. 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 brother- and Edward Schwartz of Milwaukee. 1 sister- Alice Darling of Bowler. 1 sister in law Phyllis Schwartz of West Allis. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mae, brothers William, Clarence, Frederick, and his daughter in law Wendy.
