Geraldine “Gerry” Bartell

Geraldine A. “Gerry” Bartell, 92, of Beaver Dam passed away on Monday, September 4, 2018 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital. Geraldine was born the daughter of Bernard and Mary (Dietz) Belling on December 27, 1925 in Beaver Dam. She was a 1943 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. She was married to Donald F. Bartell on August 23, 1947 in Beaver Dam. Gerry was employed as a sales associate for JC Penny Co. in Beaver Dam. Gerry was an active and faithful member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. She served as a member of the Catholic Women’s Society and was the director of the St. Michael’s choir and later the New Life funeral choir for many, many years. Gerry is survived by her two sons: Steven (Cindy) Bartell of Greenback, TN and Michael Bartell of Oshkosh; her two daughters: Nancy (Thomas) White of Waupun and Linda (Bill) Kerschbaum of Deerfield; three grandchildren: Patrick White, Drew (Adrienna) Bartell, and Abby Bartell; great-grandchildren: Ellie and Everly; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald in 2007; her brother, Eugene; and three sisters: Margaret, Lucille, and Evelyn. A visitation will be held at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church with Rev. Michael Erwin officiating. Interment will take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church.
