Gilbert A. Draeger, age 90, of Juneau, died on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
The visitation will be at Murray Funeral Home in Horicon on Monday, March 14, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home on Monday at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Carol Lange officiating. Burial will be at Juneau City Cemetery.
Gilbert A. Draeger was born on June 10, 1920 in the Town of Milford, Jefferson County, Wisconsin, to Fred and Laura (Wollin) Draeger. On September 6, 1947 he was united in marriage with LaVerna Frederick in Lebanon. Gilbert farmed in the Juneau area all of his life. He owned and operated his own dairy and crop farm until 1975, when his son took over. Gilbert still helped out on the farm and loved driving the tractors. He also did some milk hauling in the area. Gilbert was a member of St. Stephen”s United Church of Christ in Juneau.
Survivors are his sons, Dale of Oshkosh, Ron (Marcie) of Juneau, grandchildren, Beth, Wendy, Denise, Kevin, and Rebecca, Patti, Randy, and Tim, great grandchildren, Jay-lyn, Allison, Bailly, Noah, and Brina, sisters, Florence (Harold) Dobbratz of Watertown, and Helen (John) Wellmann of Jefferson, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a special friend, Gail Ludtke, a granddaughter, Dawn, brothers, Frederick and Edwin, and sister, Margaret Krumery.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Gilbert”s name to St. Stephen”s United Church of Christ, 426 N. Main St., Juneau, WI 53039.
