Gladys L. Heintz, age 86, of Horicon, died on Monday, May 27, 2013 surrounded by her family.
The visitation will be at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 11:45 AM. The funeral service will follow at the church on Thursday at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Jonathan Szczesny officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon.
The former Gladys Lucille Franke was born on May 10, 1927 in the Town of Williamstown, Dodge County, Wisconsin to Arnold and Mabel (Fink) Franke. On December 15, 1945 she was united in marriage with Raymond H. Heintz in Horicon. Gladys worked for over 25 years in various departments of Curry”s Grocery Store in Horicon, retiring from the deli department in 1991. She was a member of the Alter Guild at St. Stephen Lutheran Church and was a member of the Horicon American Legion Auxiliary for 60 years. Gladys enjoyed playing BINGO and cards but mostly enjoyed her time with family and friends.
Survivors are her sons, Leonard (Robin) of Mayville, Steven of Horicon, Randy (Marlene) of Mayville, Jeffery (Rita) of Lomira, Lee (Patrice Hartl) of Beaver Dam, Brian (Stacey Chapman) of Burnett, Gregory (Mickie Johnson) of Beaver Dam, and Bradley (Jennifer) of Valparaiso, IN; daughters, Judy Rose of Fond du Lac, Laurie (Lowboy) Mylrea of Fox Lake and Sara Schultz of Mayville; 22 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters and brother, Marcella Reabe of Hartford, Mildred (Lawrence “Digger”) DeGroot of Hartford, and Vernon (Jean) Franke of Juneau; brother-in-laws; Raymond Roll, Martin Weber and Joe Stortz, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Marce Carlton; sons-in-law, Jim Bonk, Jim Carlton, and Eugene Schultz; sisters and brothers, Anita Thrun, Eldine Roll, Delores Weber, Vilas Franke and Victor Franke.
If desired, memorials may be made in Gladys Heintz”s name to the St. Stephen Food Pantry or to Agnesian Hospice Hope.
