Glendoris Ulmer

Glendoris “Glennie” L. Ulmer, age 95, formerly of Beaver Dam, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at her home with her loving daughter, Lori Anne, in Watertown surrounded by her loving family. The visitation will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church – Newburg, 521 Congress Drive, West Bend on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Gary Rush officiating and Deacon Mike Koebel assisting. A time for fellowship will follow the Mass and burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sheboygan at 2:00 p.m. Glendoris Louise Paasch was born on October 25, 1922 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Peter and Erma (Zastrow) Paasch. She graduated from Sheboygan High School in 1940.On January 31, 1942, Glennie was united in marriage with Leon Mazur at Lake Church in Belgium, WI. Leon preceded her in death and she later married Erwin “Jr.” E. Ulmer on July 30, 1960 in Beaver Dam. Together they embraced family & marriage knowing its importance as they both previously entered widowhood at an early age. They celebrated their 50 year anniversary before his passing in 2010. Glennie was a former member of St Patrick’s & St. Katharine Drexel Parish and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of the Eagles Club and the American Legion Auxiliary as well as a member of the Vocational Homemakers. Glennie loved playing cards with her family and friends. For decades and up until the week before her passing, she was the winner of many of the daily 500 Rummy championships at home. She loved watching Packer games and dancing the polka. She always looked forward to the many polka Mass celebrations & especially over her birthday weekend each October Everyone who was privileged to have met Glennie would quickly learn that one of the most important things to her was her family. Throughout the 1980’s through the 2000’s, she and her late husband Erwin attended most church & school activities and sporting events of their grandchildren. Glennie did not let Erwin’s passing in 2010 interfere with her passion to be surrounded by family. When her care needs increased and you’d ask for her wishes, her response was always an unwavering “family”. Under the compassionate care of her granddaughter (Maria) and daughter (Lori Anne), Glennie was able to reside in her Beaver Dam home until 2017 and later moved to Watertown where she spent her last eight months. As is no surprise, Glennie continued to attend nearly every one of her great grandchildren’s sporting events, school programs, and community events up until the week before her passing. Her dedication was exemplary. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Glennie is survived by her children, Marilyn (John) Hempel of Eau Claire, Lee Mazur of Juneau, Carol Mazur of Hygiene, CO, Mark Ulmer of Fall River, and Lori Anne Terese of Watertown; grandchildren, Camille (Eric Nelson) Hempel, Heather (Isaac) Gomez, Ross (Ann) Hempel, Maria (John) Meier, Stacey (Chris) Couch, Kaitlyn Ulmer, Bryce (Ashley) Ulmer, Jared Ulmer, Sarah Ulmer, Louisa (Tim) Budreau, Maria Guenther, and Jordan Guenther; great grandchildren, Kona, Tai, River and Sage Meier, Treyton and Kaliyah Budreau, and Arlo Ulmer; nephews, John (Sue) Laack, Gary (Pat) Laack, Steve (Tammy) Laack & their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a brother in infancy; brother-in laws; Harold “Happy” Laack & Lamoyne Ulmer; sister, Lorraine Laack; and many cousins.
