Gloria E. “Babe” Lockwood, age 74, of Beaver Dam, died Sunday, June 4, 2006 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services.

The former Gloria Elizabeth Lockwood was born on November 23, 1931 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Carl and Gertrude (Sieman) Vogel. In 1951, She was united in marriage with Eugene M. Lockwood in Beaver Dam. Despite living with polio throughout her life, Babe always wanted to donate her body to science. Through the tissue donation program, she was able to fulfill her wish and also help others in the process.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene “Dutch” Lockwood in Beaver Dam, her son, Jeff Lockwood of Fond du Lac, three brothers and a sister, Lee Vogel of Mount Horeb, Al (Rosie) Vogel, Carlos (Violet) Vogel and Virginia (Russ) Winn, all of Beaver Dam, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Babe was preceded in death by her parents, a sister-in-law, Nancy Vogel, and a nephew, Curtis Vogel.

The Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is serving the family.

To the family of Gloria Lockwood, I work at Beaver Dam hospital. I am a phlebotomist and met Gloria when she first came in and was pretty ill. But a day later she was perking up and when I walked in she gave me a huge smile. I won''t forget that. I was shocked and saddened when I found out she had passed later that night. I just wanted you to know that Gloria was one of my first patients at the hospital and I will always remember that smile! Kari Kari
