Gordon E. Heuer, age 80, of Horicon, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017 at his home.A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Horicon with the Rev. Shelly Nelson officiating. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 11 at the church from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Horicon American Legion Post #157.Gordon was born on September 21, 1936 in Browns Corners the son of August and Hilda (Zimmerman) Heuer. He was united in marriage to Joyce Spittel on October 15, 1960 at Zion Lutheran Church in Horicon. Gordon was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. serving during the Korean Conflict. Gordon was retired from John Deere after 30 years as a mechanic. In his spare time Gordon enjoyed Golfing, Bowling, Hunting, and playing cards.Gordon is survived by his wife of 57 years Joyce of Horicon. His son Mark (Anne) Heuer of Beaver Dam. His grandchildren- Hannah Heuer, Jacob Heuer, and Emma Heuer. His sisters and brothers in law- Lynn (Marilyn) Spittel of Horicon and Clyde (Bonnie) Spittel of Oak Creek. He was further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Jeanette (Richard) Maertz and Bernice Heuer, brother Harold Heuer. Further preceded in death by his sisters and brothers in law Harvey Spittel, Gilbert Spittel, Leslie Spittel, Roy Spittel, Dale Spittel, Eldoris Quandt, Eleanor Acker, and Juliette Giese.
