Gordon E. Burbach, age 84, of Beaver Dam, died peacefully at his home on Friday, March 22, 2013.
The visitation will be at First Ev. Lutheran Church on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 9:30 AM until 10:50 AM. The funeral service will follow at the church on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Mark J. Molldrem officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin, with military honors provided by the John E. Miller American Legion Post #146.
Gordon Earl Burbach was born on January 16, 1929 in Columbia County, Wisconsin to Alvin and Christina (Siegmann) Burbach. He was a 1947 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. On November 3, 1952, Gordie enlisted in the United States Army, working in finance while stationed in Fort Meade, MD. He was honorably discharged on November 2, 1954 receiving a National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. On June 27, 1953 he was united in marriage with Delores Weideman at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun. Gordie worked as a Production Traffic Manager at Monarch Range for 38 years and later worked part-time at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam and Murray Funeral Homes for many years. He was active at the Dodge County YMCA and was past treasurer there. Gordie enjoyed playing golf with his friends and played softball for over 25 years. He was active in Youth Baseball and belonged to the former Beaver Dam Dance Club. Each winter he looked forward to traveling to Fort Meyers, Florida where he would enjoy his friendships and the warm weather. Gordie was a long-time member of First Ev. Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Delores Burbach of Beaver Dam; children Brian (Lori) Burbach of Fond du Lac, Lori (Daniel) Collins of Pewaukee and Jody Burbach of Franklin; grandchildren, Nicholas Burbach, Mitchell Burbach, Spencer Burbach, Eric Collins, David Collins, and Anne Collins; a brother, Alvin (Lucille) Burbach of Beaver Dam; brother-in-law, Reuben Kuck of Friesland; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Weideman of Waupun and Arlene Bloch of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Gregory; sisters, Dorothy Killiam and Marjorie Kuck; brother, Arthur; brother-in-law, Herbert Killiam; and sister-in-law, Winnie Burbach.
If desired, memorials may be made in Gordon E. Burbach”s name to Hillside Hospice or First Ev. Lutheran Church.
