Gretchen E. Forrester

March 15, 1930 - July 21, 2012

Gretchen B. Forrester, age 82, of Beaver Dam, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Charleston House in Beaver Dam.

Visitation for Gretchen will be at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 511 S. Spring Street in Beaver Dam, on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 9:30 AM to 10:50 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church on Wednesday beginning at 11:00 AM. Fr. Michael J. Erwin will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

The former Gretchen Boldenweck was born on March 15, 1930 in Oberlin, Ohio to the late Louis and Minnie (Lewis) Boldenweck. After graduating from Central High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri where she graduated with a associate degree in business. In 1970, Gretchen moved to Beaver Dam; she worked various jobs, ultimately working at Wayland Academy until she retired in 1992. In retirement, Gretchen was a representative payee through the county for several developmentally challenged individuals. As a very devout catholic, she served as a member of the Secular Franciscan Order and was involved with the Marian Movement of Priests, the Militia Immaculata, and the Apostolate of the Suffering.

Survivors include her son, Thomas Forrester of Middleton; her granddaughter, Daisy Forrester of Middleton; her brother, Thomas (Ann) Boldenweck of San Pierre, IN; other relatives and friends. Gretchen was preceded in death by her parents.

If desired, memorials may be made in Gretchen B. Forrester”s name to St. Katharine Drexel Parish or to the Dodge County Humane Society.
