Hazel M. Dalton, age 95, of Beaver Dam, died on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Hillside Manor.
The memorial gathering will be on will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. The memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Celebrant John R. Leiting officiating. Inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Dalton.
The former Hazel May Winch was born on May 9, 1919 to Arthur and Ethel (Lamoreaux) Winch in Arena, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Arena High School and continued her education at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in home economics and sociology. Later, she obtained her degree in Social Work. Hazel was united in marriage with Donald R. Dalton on November 8, 1947 at Arena. Hazel worked as a Home Consultant for Wisconsin Power and Light in Portage. After obtaining her degree in social work, she worked for Calumet County from 1969 until her retirement in May of 1981. Hazel was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Kiel where she served as an Elder and a past Vice President of the Women”s Association. She also was a Past President and Treasurer of the Happy Hour Homemaker in Manitowoc County. Hazel was currently a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam.
Hazel is survived by her children, Marydon (Gary) McCreery of Beaver Dam, Richard (Susan) Dalton of Shawnee Mission of Kansas, and Daniel Dalton of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Harriett Winch of Dunedin, FL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Cecile, Vivian, Rea, and Ula; and brothers, Fay, Lee, Roy, DeWaine, B. Gibson, and Vernon.
If desired, memorials may be made in Hazel M. Dalton”s name to the Beaver Dam Community Hospital Foundation or to American Cancer Society.
