Helen T. Miller, age 85, of Beaver Dam, died Friday February 25, 2011 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
There will be a rosary service for Helen at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 4:45 PM. Visitation will begin immediately following the rosary service and will end at 7:00 PM. There will also be a visitation at church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 511 S. Spring Street in Beaver Dam, on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Fr. Michael J. Erwin will officiate. Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
The former Helen T. Niehoff was born on October 22, 1925 in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin to the late Frank and Gertrude (Leisses) Niehoff. She attended Excelsior and Penrhos Elementary Schools and graduated from Cambria High School in 1943; she was a secretary at Green Giant until 1951. On June 23, 1951, Helen was united in marriage with James D. Miller; he preceded her in death on August 16, 2010. She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church and the Secular Franciscan Order. In years past, Helen had been active in the St. Peter Church Choir and the St. Peter Dramatic Club; she had also served as a Brownie Scout leader and a Cub Scout den mother.
Survivors include her seven children, Peter (Ann) Miller of Minong, Michael (Yen) Miller of Springfield, Virginia, Timothy (Melicent) Miller of Lake Mills, Mary Miller of McFarland, Patrick (YongAe) Miller of Palisades Park, NJ, Mark Miller of Beaver Dam, and Anne Miller of Monona; six grandchildren, Andrew, Michael (Anna), Katie, Sam, Ed (Michelle), and Allison; one great grandchild, Lindsey; a brother and two sisters, Raymond (Virginia) Niehoff, Sr. Gertrude Niehoff and Mary Bobholz; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Klein of Madison and Teresa Miller of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Margaret Niehoff and Dorothy Niehoff; and six brothers-in-law, Robert Miller, in infancy, as well as, Joseph Miller, Clarence Miller, Richard (Jean) Miller, John Klein and Donald Bobholz.
If desired, memorials may be made in Helen T. Miller”s name to St. Katharine Drexel Parish, St. Katharine Drexel School Endowment, or to St. Katharine Drexel Conference of St. Vincent DePaul Society.
