Horst August Gerth

Horst A. Gerth, 84 years old, of Horicon, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at his home.A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 18th at 12:00 noon at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Browns Corner, WI, with the Rev. Richard J. Boeck, Jr. officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18th from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 noon service at church. Burial will take place at St. John Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, Browns Corner. Horst was born on September 25, 1931 in LaSalle, IL to August and Hedwig (Sengpiel) Gerth. He was a lifelong farmer in the township of Hubbard. Horst also worked as a cattle hauler for Gerth Trucking. He was united in marriage to Norma G. Zimmerman on July 14, 1951 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church (River Church) in the township of Theresa. He was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in the township of Hubbard. Horst is survived by: his wife- Norma of Horicon; his children- Linda (Ron) Aaroen of McFarland, Carl (Gail) Gerth of Iron Ridge, Dennis (April) Gerth of Iron Ridge, Roland Gerth of Horicon, Chris (David) Schumacher of Fox Lake, Ernie (Phyllis) Gerth of Horicon, Wayne (Sherry) Gerth of Iron Ridge, Faith (William) Stroeda of Mayville, and Monica (Dave) Roskopf of Iron Ridge; 21 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; other relatives and friends.Horst is preceded in death by his parents.Memorials may be directed to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Browns Corner or to the charity of one’s choice.
