Irma Lillian Kienow, 93, of Waunakee, Wisconsin, and previously of Columbus, Wisconsin, left this world for a better life on April 25, 2009. Irma was married to John A. Kienow, her devoted husband, for 49 years, who died on December 29, 2007. Her children are Roland (Dian) Peck and Marcia Peck, of Madison, and Roger (Chris) Peck, of Portage. Their father was the late Robert Peck of Marshall and Sun Prairie.
Irma is further survived by her brother Oliver (Verona) Wright of Fond du Lac, her sister Bernice Beerbohm of Watertown, her grandchildren Amy, Robin and Ron Peck, and Laura Michel. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Irma and John worked John”s family farm together near Lowell for more than 30 years and then retired to Mesa and Payson, Arizona in 1990. They returned to Wisconsin in 2002, first settling in Juneau, and later in Columbus in 2007. Following John”s death, Irma made her home at Waunakee Manor.
Irma”s children wish to thank the staff at Waunakee Manor who lovingly cared for her, and made every effort to make her comfortable at the end of her life. Thank you especially to Mary Ann, Nina, Lisa, Valerie, Teresa, Pat, Becky, Paulynne, Carrie and Peggy for not only their care and attention to Irma, but also to her children during their visits to the Manor. Many thanks and much gratitude also to the CNAs who attended to Irma”s daily needs and who treated her with respect and love.
No formal funeral service will be held. Friends may call at the Marshall United Methodist Church, 318 William Street, Marshall, Wisconsin, on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. A brief memorial service will be held at 12:00, followed by luncheon in the fellowship hall.
