Isabel E. Karow, 94, a resident of Fall River and formerly of Columbus passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at The Meadows Assisted Living in Fall River.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Fall River with the Rev. James Bolda officiating. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Columbus.
Isabel Edna was born the daughter of Ferdinand and Ida (Koch) Schulz on June 19, 1919 in Lowell, WI. She was a graduate of Fall River High School. Isabel was married to Ernest Karow on June 16, 1951. Isabel lived in Fall River for 76 years until she moved to Columbus in 1995, then most recently moving to The Meadows in Fall River. She had worked in Sun Prairie, Columbus and Fall River until her retirement from the Fall River Post Office after 22 years. Isabel was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Fall River. She along with her husband, Ernie especially enjoyed traveling the world together.
Isabel is survived by her nieces, and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernest in 2002, her four brothers and two sisters: John (Orvilla), Herman (Bernice), Arthur, Willard (Helen), Irma (James) Bremmer and Viola (Harvey) Austin.
Isabel’s family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Rolf Poser, Dr. Kahn, The Meadows and Hillside Hospice for all their wonderful care and support.
