Jack H. Larson, 84, of 111 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Hillside Manor with his loving family by his side.
Funeral service for Jack will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Noon at Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam with the Rev. Mark Wenzel officiating. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday, June 5th at Peace Lutheran Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Noon. The American Legion Post # 146 to pay their respects at 11:00 a.m. at church. Entombment will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the township of Trenton, Wisconsin. Graveside military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #146 Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.
Jack was born the son of Lloyd and Doris (Walker) Larson on May 22, 1929 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He was a 1947 graduate of Beaver Dam High School and attended UW-Whitewater. On March 6, 1954 he was united in marriage to Betty A. Rhode in Burnett, Wisconsin.
Jack served his country in the United States Army in the Infantry during the Korean Conflict from Feb. 23, 1951 – Dec. 9, 1952. He had been employed at Wisconsin Power and Light for 42 years, first as a lineman and later as a district storekeeper.
He was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church, where he had belonged to the Men’s Club and served as an usher. He had been a member of the Beaver Dam Country Club and also the Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146. He was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed all Wisconsin team sports. Jack was a devoted family man who deeply loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his wife of 59 years Betty; and sons: Russell J. Larson of Mauldin, SC and Brian K. (Krystal) Larson of Beaver Dam; three grandchildren: Jessica (Jeff) Duehring of Fond du Lac and their children: Quintin, Graham and Macalister Duehring; Clinton (special friend Heather Luedtke) Larson of Beaver Dam and Kendra (Trenton) Yadro of Beaver Dam; his brothers and sister: Richard (Rose) Larson of Beaver Dam, Miriam Sue (Vernon Jim) Laue of Michigan and William (Anda) Larson of Philadelphia, PA. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Russell.
