James “Grandpa Jim” R. Ausloos, age 70, of Oakfield, WI, passed away on July 20, 2014 unexpectedly at his home with his family by his side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 24th at 6:00 p.m. at Sons of Zebedee St. James Catholic Church in Oakfield, with Rev. Father Michael Peterson presiding. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at church. Burial will take place at St. John Cemetery in Byron, WI.James was born on June 22, 1944 the son of Melvin and Mary (LeBreck) Ausloos in Oconto, WI. Jim graduated from Oconto High School in 1962. He was united in marriage to Mary Helen Collien on May 22, 1965 at St. James Catholic Church in Oakfield, the church where they have been lifelong members. He served a four year machinist apprenticeship at Nordberg Mfg. in Milwaukee before joining the Wisconsin State Patrol as a trooper. He retired from the State Patrol in June of 1998 after 30 dedicated years of service. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed going to Lake Erie walleye fishing with his wife, son and grandsons. He also enjoyed going up to Glidden by his son’s cabin with his family.Jim is survived by his wife Mary; their son Brian James (Tina) Ausloos; his grandsons Cody and Casey; his mother-in-law Dorothy Collien; his sisters Janice Barr of Oconto, Bonnie (Roger) Pagel of Abrams, and Dawn (Dr. Todd) Schroeder of Manitowoc; in-laws Dale (Susan) Collien of Fond du lac; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew Matthew Pagel, and his father-in-law Milton “Bud” Collien.
