James A. Smith

October 22, 1975 - February 20, 2014

James “Andy” Smith, age 38, died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at his home in Beaver Dam.

Visitation for Andy will be at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, 131 East Maple Avenue in Beaver Dam, on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dietrich Gruen officiating. Burial will follow at Lowell Cemetery.

James Andrew Smith was born on October 22, 1975 in Roxboro, NC to the late Willie and Ruby (nee Allen) Smith. He moved to Beaver Dam about 13 years ago to live with his sister. Andy would spend hours at a time playing with the family kids; he especially loved playing with his daughter, Lydia, whom meant the world to him. He enjoyed doing yard work in the summer; he also enjoyed fishing, country music, frisbee golf and video games.

Survivors include his daughter, Lydia Rose; his sister, Mary (Russell) Smith Niemeyer of Beaver Dam; his niece, Katelyn Niemeyer; his little brother, Joshua Pitzlin; extended family, Linda Harwood, Steve Hagood and the entire Hagood family in Roxboro, NC, Jason & Damien Castillo, Karri Gritzmacher Odum, Gary Strassburg, Chad Fischer, Jana Elgersma and the entire Elgersma family, , Connie & Roger Jameson, Rachel Westover, and Robert Niemeyer; other family and friends. Andy was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank Holly from hospice for her special care and loving attention.
