James A. Hintz, age 78, of Horicon, died on Friday, February 13, 2009 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
The visitation will be held on Monday, February 16, 2009 at Murray Funeral Home in Horicon from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church in Horicon from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The funeral service will follow on Tuesday at the church with Rev. Mark Hasty officiating. Burial will be at Oakhill Cemetery, Horicon, Wisconsin, with military honors provided by Horicon American Legion Post #157.
James Alfred Hintz was born on September 27, 1930 in Horicon to Alfred H. and Marguerite (Schoenwetter) Hintz. He was a 1948 graduate of Horicon High School. In 1951, Jim entered into the US Air Force during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1955. On August 13, 1953, he was united in marriage with Audrey Benter at Zion Lutheran Church in Horicon. Jim was a member of Horicon American Legion Post #157 and a life long member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Audrey Hintz, Horicon, sons, Jeffrey James (fiancAC.e, Gloria Schmidt) Hintz, Beaver Dam, and Michael Lee (Debra) Hintz, Ruckersville, VA, 14 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, brother, Eugene (Melody) Hintz, Beaver Dam, sister, Joyce Hoffman, Horicon, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Kurt and Timothy, and granddaughter, Samantha Jo Hintz.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Jim”s name to Zion Lutheran Church / Organ Fund, 317 E. Walnut St., Horicon, WI, 53032.
