James G. Strohmayer, age 65, died on January 5, 2022 at his home in Beaver Dam. The visitation will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Sandra Schieble officiating. Cremation will follow. For those in attendance, the family kindly asks that face coverings be worn. James George was born on December 17, 1956 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to John and Eva (Basel) Strohmayer. After graduating high school, Jim attended the police academy and worked for the City of Milwaukee for many years, until his official retirement in January of 2020. In the early 1990’s, he purchased some land on Beaver Dam Lake and would spend all of his spare time there. He loved family gatherings, fishing on the lake, and participating in poker runs. He loved the area and what it had to offer. Jim also had a love for classical cars. Jim is survived by his sons, Thomas (Vedra) Strohmayer of Guyton, GA and David (Lisa) Strohmayer of Reeseville; brothers, Richard (Janet) Strohmayer of Mukwonago and John (Debra) Strohmayer of Greendale; grandson, Dominick Strohmayer; step grandchildren, Damien (Brett) Lopez, Dylan Martin, and Danielle Martin; nephew, Robert Strohmayer; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made in James G. Strohmayer’s name to the American Heart Association of to the American Diabetes Association.
