James J. Schmidt, age 79, died Wednesday November 21, 2012 at his home in Juneau.
Friends may call at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 950 Washington Street in Horicon, on Saturday, November 24 2012 from 9:00AM to 10:50AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Devoted family friend, Fr. Guy Gurath, will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary”s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
James Schmidt was born on July 12, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of the late George and Elizabeth Schmidt. He graduated from Waukesha High School in 1952. He was united in marriage with Marlene Pichekoske at St James in Menomonee Falls Wisconsin. James was employed at Waukesha Motors and later became the business owner of “The Schmidt House” in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. James and Marlene were also coordinators in the Shaklee Corporation. James and Marlene moved to Juneau 25 years ago. They were active members of the DAV Auxiliary and members of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon.
Survivors include his daughter, Victoria “Vicky” Schmidt of Chicago Illinois; his grandson, Michael of Oconomowoc; his granddaughter, Elizabeth of Janesville; his great grandson, Mason; four brothers, George Schmidt, Richard Schmidt, Paul Schmidt, and Robert Schmidt; three sisters, Rose Marie Nettesheim, Betty Roehl, and Catherine Damon. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Marlene Schmidt; his son, James A. Schmidt; his brother, George; and his sister Catherine.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the VA Hospital of Milwaukee and the Beaver Dam Dialysis Center for their care of James over the past seven years. In addition, a heartfelt thank you is extended to the many friends who dedicated their time towards providing “Jim” a loving and fulfilling quality of life.
