On October 18, 1947, he was united in marriage with Una Mae Shepard at St. Mark”s Episcopal Church in Beaver Dam where he then became a member. James and Una Mae enjoyed going to dances, which is how they met, and they continued to dance throughout their marriage. James was employed at Metal Fab for over 25 years, working for the maintenance department. He was active with the Eagles Club and served as a past president. You could often find him cooking and serving for the Eagles Sunday morning breakfast. James would sell Christmas trees every year when his kids were younger and then sold vegetables at the farmer”s market. He was an outdoorsman and especially liked to fish with his grandson in his later years. The biggest joy in James”s life was his family and every minute that was spent with them was cherished.
