Janette B. Morgan, age 91 of Beaver Dam died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at home with family and nurses by her side as she struggled with illness for quite some time.
Visitation for Janette will be at Grace Presbyterian Church, 215 Gould Street in Beaver Dam, on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM. Funeral services will follow at church on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 PM with Rev. Dee Talley officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Janette was born on March 15, 1921 to Edwin and Evelyn (Thompson) Brown in Allen Creek, Black River Falls, Wisconsin. She attended school in Snow Creek for 8 years and graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1939. Janette worked for Schultz Brothers and, for a short time, at a box factory. On November 1, 1943, she was united in marriage with Tom G. Morgan in Naperville, IL. They lived in Southport, North Carolina while Tom was stationed there and then moved back to Wisconsin and lived in Elroy, Black River Falls, Dodgeville, Kiel, Clintonville, Ripon, and in 1968 they moved to Beaver Dam. Janette worked in theater with Tom for 25 years working the concession stand at the outdoor theaters in both Beaver Dam and Ripon. She enjoyed playing cards and Bingo as well as working on her genealogy and tending to her flowers in her garden. She enjoyed collecting Santa figures, angels, and dolls and used some of these to decorate her Christmas trees. Janette liked to travel and visited Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Ohio; she also enjoyed dining out with her family and friends. Janette was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Morgan and Marsha Kay (Robert) Horne, both of Beaver Dam; her precious grandson, Casey (Robin) Nampel and her two precious great grandsons, Landon Allen and Donavan James Nampel, all of Lowell; her sister, Dorothy (Tom) Risbuten of Black River Falls; two sisters-in-law, Faye Brown and Arlene Brown, both of Black River Falls; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Janette was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Duane “Jack”, Sidney, and Phillip “Dud”; a sister, Kathryn “Dolly” Hutchens; and two sisters in infancy. Sadly, she will be missed by everyone she was so dear to.
If desired, memorials may be made to the family and they will divide them among charities.
