Jennie I. Neumann, age 77, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at her home in Beaver Dam after a lengthy battle with kidney cancer.
Visitation for Jennie will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Thursday, August 6, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at church on Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be at Trinity United Methodist Church in Beaver Dam on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Eileen Kuehnl will officiate. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
The former Jennie Irene Roberts was born on August 28, 1931 on the family farm in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin to the late William and Lillie (Smith) Roberts. She graduated from Rosendale High School in 1949 and from Whitewater State College in 1953 where she was a member of the Delta Sigma Epsilon Sorority. On October 23, 1954, she was united in marriage with Kenneth L. Neumann at Rosendale Methodist Church. Mrs. Neumann taught at Dodgeland High School and other area schools for over 50 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Beaver Dam where she was active in the Mary Circle and other church organizations. Jennie served on the Dodge County Library Board and on the Beaver Dam area FEMA Board. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and she enjoyed traveling to all 50 states and several other countries, as well. Jennie also enjoyed gardening, crafts and sewing.
Survivors include her husband, Ken Neumann, of Beaver Dam; five children, Debra (Richard) Worden of Beaver Dam, Dean Neumann of Beaver Dam, Denise (David) Breunig of Madison, Diane (Jim Pelkey) Neumann of Madison, and Doug (Joanne) Neumann of Watertown; nine grandchildren, Bradley (Jill), Craig, and Andrea Worden, Dane and Deeter Neumann, Jason and Lindsay Breunig, and Nathan and Connor Neumann; a great granddaughter, Alathia Worden; two sisters and a brother, Margaret Meier of Fond du Lac, Doris (Robert) Klapperich of Wisconsin Rapids, and David (Arlene) Roberts of Markesan; a sister-in-law, Burnett Roberts of Rosendale; a brother-in-law, Leslie (June) Hageman of Ripon, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jennie was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Memorials may be made to Jennie”s family or to Hillside Hospice.
