Jesus “G-Jay” Hernandez, age 19, of Beaver Dam, died Friday, February 6, 2009 in Beaver Dam.

Visitation for G-Jay will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM. The celebration of Jesus” life will begin at 6:30 PM with memories being shared. This will be followed by a service led by Rev. Matthew Martin. Burial services will be held in Crystal City, Texas.

Jesus Guadalupe Hernandez was born on March 24, 1989 in Wuerzburg, Bavaria, Germany, the son of Joseph E. Hernandez and Juanita (nee: Coronado) Hernandez. G-Jay has lived in Beaver Dam for the past seven years and graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 2007. He played linebacker on the football team for four years. He loved to lift weights and to hang-out with his friends. G-Jay touched a lot of people in a lot of ways. A bright light has been taken away, as was the constant smile that he had on his face.

G-Jay is survived by his father and step mother, Joe and Lisa Hernandez of Beaver Dam, his mother, Juanita Hernandez of Crystal City, TX, his sister, Aizza Hernandez of Crystal City, TX, two step-sisters, Amber Dummer of Beaver Dam and Ashley Dummer of Beaver Dam, a niece, Brooklynn Dummer and a nephew, Daniel Lozano, both of Beaver Dam, his paternal grandparents, Guadalupe and Idalia Hernandez of Crystal City, TX, his maternal grandmother, Adelaida Coronado of Crystal City, TX, his step grandmother, Mildred Tijerina, of Beaver Dam, numerous aunts, uncle, cousins and many friends.

To the family of Jesus, I want to send my condolences. I was his teammate in football throughout high school, and got to know him quite well over the years. He had a great personality and showed a lot of heart playing. Even though I didn''t see much of him after high school, whenever I did, we always had a good laugh about something. In loving memory of GJ, a young man whose life was cut short, & only began to start his life. A young man who was always kind and polite, who was always there for his family. Though I did not know him as well as others, he was always smiling; playing with his niece & nephew, as well as all the little ones. There was not an uncaring bone in his body. May his love for family, friends, & football live on forever through those who knew him & loved him. The tragedy did not happen to a kinder more loving young man. He will be missed by everyone.
