Jeweldene ‘Judy’ Bischoff, age 77, of Horiocon, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital. A funeral service for Judy will take place on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Horicon with the Rev. Mark Hasty officiating. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Oakhill Cemetery. Judy was born the daughter of Ewald and Carrie (Prame) Benter on May 18, 1937 in Beaver Dam. She was a 1955 graduate of Horicon High School. Judy was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Horicon where she was active in teaching Sunday School for 29 years and also taught Bible School for 19 years. She also belonged to the Woman of ELCA. She was united in marriage to James Bischoff on September 13, 1958 in Horicon by the Rev. George M. Overdier.In her spare time, Judy loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed being a homemaker and wife. She loved working outside while mowing the grass and taking care of her flower beds. She also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. Judy loved cooking for funeral dinners, chili suppers and other special church dinners.She is survived by- her husband Jim Bischoff of Horicon. Her daughter- Joni (David) Hecht of Horicon. 2 grandchildren- Dr. Emily (Eric) Zillmer and Joshua (Brittney) Hecht. Her 4 great grandchildren- Harper, Sawyer, Hattie, and Mason. 2 sisters- Carrie Lyons and Audry Hintz. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son James, 2 brothers Beno and Bud Benter, and sister Roberta Mullen. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church.
