Joan M. Hinkes, 82, of Horicon, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 5th at 12:00 noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon, with the Rev. Michael Petrie officiating. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday, January 5th from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the church. Burial will take place at St. Malachy Catholic Cemetery in Horicon.Joan was born on March 25, 1933 to John and Marie Yasger in Horicon. She was a graduate of Horicon High School. Joan was united in marriage to Silver P. Hinkes on May 16, 1959 at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Horicon.Joan was an active member of St. Malachy Catholic Church and continued to be a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon. She enjoyed bowling as well as bridge club and dinner with her lady friends. Joan loved spending time her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother – her grandchildren were her life. Joan will also be sadly missed by her friend Kramer.Joan is survived by her children: Mary (Douglas) Koepsell of Horicon, Ann (Jim) Rake of Beaver Dam, and John (Heather) Hinkes of Kenosha; her grandchildren: Alex (Amanda) Koepsell, Jake (Samantha) Koepsell, Molly Hinkes, Meredith Hinkes, and Jack Hinkes; her special nephews: David (Lisa) Wegner and their children Grant and Shay, Paul (Debby) Wegner and their children Betsy and Chris, and Mike Yasger; further survived by other relatives and friends.Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Silver in 1982, her sister Betty, and her brother Jim.
