John E. Fadness, 75, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Koepsell Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam with the Rev. Jeff Nicholas officiating. A visitation will also be held on Sunday, April 14th from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Koepsell Funeral Home.

John Edwin was born on May 4, 1937, the son of Edwin C. and Hazel C. (Hamre) Fadness in Columbus, Wisconsin. He graduated from Columbus High School and Madison Business College. On June 24, 1961, he was united in marriage with Karen Wendt at Trinity Church-United Methodist in Beaver Dam.

John had been employed as an accountant, the Director of Administrative Services and Budget Director for the Department of Employee Trust Funds. He was a member of Trinity Church-United Methodist in Beaver Dam.

John enjoyed spending time at the family farm. He loved the country life, preserving the country environment, all birds and animals, and his beloved dog, Jassi. He will be remembered as an avid music fan, especially Jazz, Dixieland and Bluegrass. John enjoyed the Packers and NASCAR.

John is survived by his daughter Kietra (Jeremy) Boerson of Fox Lake; grandson Dakota Fadness; sister Beatrice Fadness Quam of De Forest and his beloved companion Jassi; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Karen who passed away in 2010.
