John P. Dropik, age 93, of New Berlin, formerly of Mayville passed away on November 24, 2018 at Heritage at Deer Creek in New Berlin.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, November 29 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville with the Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack presiding. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 29 from 9-10 a.m. at the church. Burial and Military Honors will be conducted at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.John was born the son of John and Bridget Dropik on August 4, 1925 in Minnesota. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and was employed by the city of Milwaukee as a civil engineer until his retirement after 28 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy. John was united in marriage to Lorraine Melick. John was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville. In his spare time John enjoyed downhill skiing and also was a pilot in his earlier years.He is survived by his children- Greg (Claudia) Dropik of Union Grove, Gary Dropik of Marquette, MI., Jeffrey Dropik of Muskego, Kathleen (Dropik) Close of Eau Claire, Jerome (Kathy) Dropik of Greenfield, James (Marilyn) Dropik of Milwaukee, and Timothy (Denise) Dropik of Muskego. His grandchildren and great grandchildren. His brothers- George (Rowene) Dropik of St. Paul, MN., and Ray (Marlene) Dropik of St. Paul, MN. Further survived by other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lorraine, son Steven, his grandson Corey, sister Marion Cloud, and brother Gordon Dropik.
