Mary, Our sympathy to you and your family. What an addition to Horicon you and John have been. I have a quote to share with you today given by "Zig" Ziglar that I felt was fitting to John. "What you get by reaching your destination isn''t really as important as who you become by reaching that destination." Peace be with you, Janet and Gary Willard

I read with great sadness the notice in the Dodge County Pioneer (aka Horicon Reporter) about John Sr.''s passing. I have wonderful memories of this most interesting individual. A true character, father, great hunter and craftsman/plumber. As a high school student in Horicon and later during summers away from college I recall many happy times at the Marohl house along with the John, Jr., Charlie, David and, usually, my brother Bill and Mark Rohde. From the interesting food (usually something shot by John somewhere in the world and cooked by Mary - like buffalo), to animated conversations about events of the day (local or national) punctuated by observations from Mary, to observing the (then) family dog Tassie go nuts when some one shouted "squirrel" - one could always count on the Marohl household, led ably by John Sr (or so he assumed) for an engaging and enjoyable time. Great times and great memories. I am sure that all the family and friends of John have ample memories of such times together. My deepest sympathies to Mary, John, Jr., Charlie, David and all John''s friends and other relatives at this time. Horicon has lost one of its true citizens.

I have many happy memories of uncle John. As a youngster I was most impressed by his walls of trophy''s. As I grew older his kindness, patience and gentle ways came to the fore. I believe his was a life well lived. Dear family may God grant you comfort and peace as you endure this time of change. James McCorison

Uncle John, Even though we never had the opportunity to meet your dad, he sounds like an exemplary fellow. Based on what an awesome person you are, I can only say that your dad passed on wonderful values to you and made this world a better place. You, Aunt Cindy, Dustin, Marcia and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. We wish we were closer to envelop you in love and hugs. Love you to pieces.
