Visitation: Monday, March 10th from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church.

Joseph G. Novak, 89, of 1005 Georgetown Circle, Beaver Dam passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 408 S. Spring Street, Beaver Dam with Father Michael Erwin and Father Charles Scheuerell officiating. A visitation will also be held on Monday, March 10th from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam with graveside Military Honors conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146.

Joseph Gordon was born on November 1, 1924 the son of Joseph E. and Florence (Immerfall) Novak in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Battle of the Bulge with duty in England, France, Belgium, Luxemburg and Germany.

On June 23, 1956, he was married to Ione L. Haag at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Joe had been employed at Hutter Construction and later at Monarch Range Company in the maintenance department, where he was employed until his retirement. Joe was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish and also the Knights of Columbus.

Joe is survived by his brother James (Yvonne) Novak of Beaver Dam, nieces and nephews, special friends: Mike and Ellen Hilgrem of Beaver Dam, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ione, his sister Florence Bykowski, his brother Norbert Novak, sister-in-law Marge Novak and brothers-in-law Arthur Washtock and Ervin Bykowski.
