Juanita Marie Sires-Cigelske, age 80, died on Monday, March 10, 2008 at the Continental Manor in Randolph.
The visitation for Juanita will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Sunday, March 16, 2008 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 511 S. Spring Street, on Monday, March 17, 2008 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at church, beginning at 11:00 AM. Fr. Carlos Florez will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Patrick”s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
The former Juanita Marie Feeley was born on March 29, 1927 in Beaver Dam to the late Lester and Ruth (Grover) Feeley. She attended the one room school in South Beaver Dam and St. Peter”s Catholic School. Juanita was a 1945 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. On September 25, 1946, she was united in marriage with Joseph W. Sires at St. Patrick”s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. He preceded her in death in October of 1984. On September 6, 1986, she was united in marriage with Howard Cigelske at the Annunciation Church in Fox Lake. Juanita apprenticed in hair styling and worked with her barber husband in partnership in the Skokie, Illinois area until returning to Wisconsin. She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish where she was active in the Catholic Women”s Society, Adult Choir and New Life Choir. Juanita was also a Red Cross volunteer and a Beaver Dam Lake Association board member. She was involved with high school reunion activities and also contributed to funding scholarships for 4-H and the Beaver Dam Agribusiness Association.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Cigelske, Beaver Dam, four children, Cris (Randy) Grunst, John (Sharon) Sires, Ginger (Jim) Skelly, and Mark Sires, all of Beaver Dam, step children, Donald (Donna) Cigelske, Beaver Dam, Stephen Cigelske, Beaver Dam, Marie Cigelske, Beaver Dam, Roseann Kleindl-Cigelske, Olympia, Washington, Jerome “Jerry” (Cathy) Cigelske, Cambria, and Jenni Vaughn, Milwaukee, 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, a sister, Joyce (Gordon) Bartol-Roberts, Cadiz, Kentucky, a special aunt, Lorraine (Bob) Frankenstein, Beaver Dam, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Joseph in1984, and two grandsons, Jon Skelly and Tony Sires.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Juanita”s name to the Alzheimer”s Association, 6130 West National Ave., Suite 200, Milwaukee, WI 53214 or to the St. Katharine Drexel School Endowment Fund.
