Judith Jegier, age 58, of Horicon died on Sunday, September 2, 2007 at UW Hospital in Madison after a courageous battle with cancer.
Friends and family may gather on Friday, September 7, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon from 2:00 PM until the time of service. A Memorial Mass for Judy will be held on Friday, September 7, 2007 at the church at 5:00 PM with Fr. Michael Petrie officiating. Cremation has taken place.
The former Judith Ann Cotey was born on December 14, 1948 in Merrill, Wisconsin to Dean “Pat” and Lucille (Grobschmidt) Cotey. Judy was a 1967 graduate of South Milwaukee Senior High School. On January 30, 1971, she was united in marriage with Ted Jegier in South Milwaukee. Judy Graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught in Beaver Dam and Dodgeland School Districts for 27 years teaching early childhood education for disabled children. She also taught four year old kindergarten at Dodgeland for the past few years. Judy served as president of the Dodgeland Educational Association and was a member of the Council for Exceptional Children. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon, served on the Parish Council and taught religious education. Judy”s children and grandchildren were her life. She always showered them with love and gifts. Judy was a very giving person never wanting anything in return.
Judy is survived by her husband, Ted Jegier of Horicon, her two sons, Jolin (Andrea) Jegier of Midland, MI and Dan (Sarah) Jegier of New Berlin, her mother, Lucille Cotey of South Milwaukee, her four grandchildren, Aubrey and Riley of Midland, MI and Becca and J.P. of New Berlin, her brother Dean (Georgette) Cotey of South Milwaukee, her sister-in-law Barbara Milner and two brothers-in-law Ron Milner and Stan Les, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Dean, her sister-in-law Judy Les and her special friend, Tom Huettl.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Judy”s name to the Central Wisconsin Cancer Program, 435 East Division Street, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin 54935.
