Karen J. Stommel, age 75, of Juneau, died on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center in Harford. The memorial gathering will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. The memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Renae Dymond officiating. Karen June Kominska was born on December 23, 1945 to Elroy and June (Thorgeson) Kominska in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After graduating from Mayville High School, she was united in marriage with Joseph A. Stommel on June 20, 1964. They operated a Dairy Farm in the Town of Hubbard from 1970 until 1984. Karen also worked at ER Wagner for 24 years, until her retirement in 2011. Karen loved her pets and was really an animal lover of all sorts. She enjoyed bird watching and baking. Karen would make fresh baked bread for her family and homemade popcorn whenever one would come to visit. Karen will be missed by her son, Joseph (Nancy) Stommel, Jr. of Juneau; grandsons, Joseph (Rachel) Stommel, III of Watertown and Cody M. Stommel of Juneau; great grandsons, Jacob and Caleb; siblings, Kent (Geraldine) Kominska of Chandler, AZ, Mary Kline of Knoxville, TN, and Darron (Kathleen) Kominska of Slinger; sister-in-law, Marion Persha of Hustisford; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 2015.
