"But now, this is what the LORD says... : "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior." These words from Isaiah 43 have always been a great comfort to me because God tells us that we are his twice over. He created us and he also send Jesus to be our Savior. My thoughts and prayers are with you. And we can all rejoice in the gift of God in bringing another of his faithful servants home! I heard about Karen''s death from my folks and was told that this was the best way to send a message. I have fond memories of sixth grade in Karen''s class and especially am grateful for the love of good books that I received from her. She would read to us almost every day. I particularly remember her reading us the book "Johnny Tremain." God be with your family with all the comfort of his gospel grace. In Christ, Dave Leistekow

My sympathy goes out to your family. I remember Karen as a great teacher and very involved with the students that she taught. My son had her as a teacher and she was one of his favorites.

My deepest sympathies to the family, especially Kaki, Marilyn and Andy. I stayed with your Mom, Helene, when I was teaching in Columbus. Lois Strack and I lived in the twins'' bedroom. I''m not sure where Kaky slept. Marilyn was still in gradeschool then. I learned to know Andy when he was a student at WLS and I was a secretary there. I''ve lost touch the last few years, but I have many good memories. My sister-in-law sent me the obituary from the Beaver Dam paper. What a nice tribute to Karen. I''m sure you will miss Karen but you all know how blessed she is to be with the Lord. Elaine

She was always a very sweet, caring, and kind person and will be missed by all. A memorial will be given to St. Stephen''s Ev. Lutheran School. The Lord''s blessing to all the family.

To the Straseske Family; I was blessed to have been a student of Mrs. Straseske''s in the late 1970s at St. Stephen''s. She was definitely one of those teachers that had a positive influence on me and I thought of her fondly through out the years. Our paths would sometimes cross and she always greeted me warmly and would ask about my family, etc... Her kindness always left a lasting mark. I know she''s in heaven and smiling down on all of us whose lives she''s touched. My sympathy to all of her family. Lori Love
