Kenneth Henry Kulke was born on June 26, 1942 in Columbus, Wisconsin to Gerhardt and Lorraine (Schmoldt) Kulke. He was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Lowell and graduated from Lowell-Reeseville High School. Ken was a member of the Wisconsin National Guard. He loved all sports and was a player/manager for the Reeseville team in the Rock River Baseball League and he was also a player/manager for Fast-Pitch and Slow-Pitch Softball in Reeseville and Waterloo. Ken was the driving force for many years for the Youth Baseball Program in Reeseville. He was also a WIAA official in football for 35 years and basketball for almost as long. He drove school bus for the Gossfeld Bus Service and also for Johnson Bus Company and Lamer”s Bus Service for over 30 years. As a long-time backer of high school, college, and professional sports, Ken could always be found at a high school football game in the fall or a basketball game in the winter. Camp Randall, the Field House, and the Kohl Center were like home to him.
He is survived by his mother, Lorraine, of Lowell; his brother, Howard (Bonnie), Waterloo, “brother”, Eugene “Jake” “Pete” Jahns of Beaver Dam; niece and nephews, Stephanie (Jackson) Wilson of Evanston, IL, Christopher of Necedah, and Erik (Dorothy) of Milwaukee; great niece and nephews, Alice and Emmitt Wilson, and Oscar Kulke, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends. Ken was preceded in death by his father, Gerhardt, and a foster brother, Jeff Huettner.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Kenneth Kulke”s name to Salem Lutheran Church or the Salem Ladies Aid.
Under Kenny”s guidance, countless boys and girls learned how to play ball, behave on a bus, and how to properly bale hay. He will be missed not only by his family, but by the entire community.
