Kenneth Frederick Kaleas, 90, of rural Columbus passed away peacefully at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison on Monday, June 4, 2018. A memorial gathering will take place Wednesday, June 20th from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. at the Koepsell-Zeidler Funeral Home in Columbus. Military honors will be conducted by the Columbus American Legion Post #62. Inurnment will take place at West Bristol Cemetery. Ken was born the son of Frederick and Julia Kaleas on January 18, 1928 in Kilbourn, Wisconsin. On April 1, 1962 he was united in marriage with Doris N. Parks in Prairie du Chien. Ken proudly served his country overseas as a member of the US Air Force. He enjoyed building ship models, doing cross words, watching Wheel of Fortune and the Green Bay Packers. He will be missed by his son; Keith (Kristina Waterson) Kaleas, and grandson Travis Kaleas, both of Madison. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Doris in 2016.
