Lawrence F. Link, age 87, of Beaver Dam, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Randolph.
Private graveside funeral services will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Columbus. Rev. Bob Moberg will officiate.
Lawrence Francis Link was born on January 12, 1924 in Troy Township, Will County, Illinois to the late Albert and Theresa (Offerman) Link. On December 27, 1952, he was united in marriage with Lucia L. Ambruse at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lockport, IL. Lawrence was a dairy farmer throughout his life; he started farming on his parent”s farm in Joliet, IL, before moving to Sharon, WI and ultimately settling in Columbus. After he retired from farming, he worked at Old Hickory Country Club helping maintain the golf course. Lawrence was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Columbus and had been a member of the Columbia County Farm Bureau and AMPI.
Lawrence is survived by his three children, Larry (Susan) Link of Frankfort, IL, Don Link of Beaver Dam and Lori (Peter) Gasser of Columbus; two granddaughters; four great grandchildren; his sister, Leona Ricchio; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Albert John “AJ” Link and Joseph Link; and his sister, Cecelia Drauden.
