Lawrence “Lawrie” Joseph Heiman, age 73, of rural Columbus, died unexpectedly, yet peacefully, surrounded by the nature in which he loved, on Saturday, March 3, 2018. The visitation will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, in BEAVER DAM, on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home on Saturday with Rev. Gerhardt Miller officiating. The burial will be at Washington Cemetery in the Township of Portland. A celebration will continue at the Waterloo Fireman’s Park Pavilion on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Lawrence Joseph Heiman was born on December 25, 1944 in Blanchardville, Wisconsin to Adolph and Hattie (Zenger) Heiman. He was united in marriage with Janet Propst on June 19, 1965 in Beaver Dam. Larry and Janet owned a restaurant in Reeseville, a trucking company, and tried their luck at pig farming. Larry had an infectious laugh and a smile to go with it. He always made people laugh with his jokes and stories. Larry was a thoughtful person and often put others needs before his own. He had a love for horses and was a cowboy at heart. Larry loved to go camping and trail riding as well as taking road trips. He loved his family, his friends, and his four legged pals, Dixie, Tex, and Roxy. Larry is survived by his daughters, Brenda Heiman of Columbus, Nancy (Dave) Dahlke of Hartford, Angie Heiman of Duluth, GA, and Scott (Wendy) Adams of Huntington, IN; grandchildren, Jordan (Lyndsey) Adams, and Courtney Adams; sisters-in-law, Mary Heiman of Marshall, Judie Heiman of McFarland, and Linda Heiman of Black River Falls; his former wife, Myrna Severson of Milton; special nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janet; and brothers, Albert, Fred, and Ed. Memorials may be made to the Larry Heiman Memorial Fund.
