Lawrence O. Villwock, 86 years old, of Mayville, passed away Monday, March 6 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital. A funeral service for Lawrence will take place on Saturday, March 11 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville with Rev. Joy Mortensen-Wiebe officiating. A visitation will take place on Saturday, March 11 from 12 – 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will take place at the Kekoskee Cemetery in Kekoskee.Lawrence was born the son of Oscar and Selma (Marohl) Villwock on October 28, 1930 at the family homestead in rural Mayville. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s in Kekoskee. He was united in marriage to LaVerne Wagner of October 9, 1954 in Lomira. He worked on the family farm and also for CC Link Road Contractors. He also helped run the Kozy Lake Café in Fox Lake with his wife LaVerne. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville. In his spare time, Lawrence enjoyed finding arrowheads and loved wood working and was especially proud of his sawmill that he built by hand. In his younger years, he played the accordion and was fond of polka. Family was important to Lawrence and he cherished the time spent with them.Lawrence is survived by his children- Jeff Villwock of Mayville, Nancy Leystra of Mayville, Larry (Collette) Villwock of Mayville, Linda (Kim Mittelstadt) Balmer of Kekoskee, and Rhonda (John) Luehring of Mayville. His grandchildren- Andrea (Tony) Leigl, Amber (Robert) VanderGulien, Alyssa (Kyle) Bilot, Lucas (Courtney) Villwock, Eric (Katie Limberg) Villwock, Ross Villwock, Ryan (Vera Bermema) Erdmann, Tyler (Katie Spulher) Erdmann, Brevin Luehring, and Micaela Luehring. His great grandchildren- Jack, Andrew, Lexie, Ava, and Adaline.He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife LaVerne, and sons in law Richard Leystra and David Balmer.Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville.
