Leslie “Les” A. Sack, age 86, of rural Reeseville, died on Monday, April 4, 2011 at Columbus Community Hospital.
The visitation will be at Murray Funeral Home in Reeseville on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:00 PM with Rev. Ray Field officiating. Burial will be at Lowell Cemetery.
Leslie Alvin Sack was born on the family farm in Reeseville on June 4, 1924 to Richard and Lena (Luckow) Sack. He inherited the family farm from his father and operated that for several years. Les married Esther Kraft and they had one son, Richard. Esther preceded him in death. On May 22, 1988, Les was united in marriage with Adalia “Dolly” (Schroeder) Rux. He was a welder for Monarch Range and also drove school bus for several years in the Reeseville area. Besides taking care of his family, his true passion was music. Les could play any genre of music and could pick up any kind of instrument and play it by ear. As a hobby, he enjoyed flying his Piper planes and his Beach Craft Bonanza. Les was also an amateur radio operator.
Survivors are his wife, Dolly of Reeseville; son, Richard (Darlene) Sack of Juneau; step children, Ronald Rux of Horicon, Letty (Bob) Foster of Beaver Dam, and Roberta (Wayne) Schneider of Beaver Dam; grandchildren, Deborah (William) Ziehme, Todd (Marla) Erdman, Jennifer Rux, Debbie Haase, Robert, Matthew, Andrew, and Kelly Foster, Michele (fiancAC., Eric Hase) Schneider, and Brian (Kelly) Schneider; great grandchildren, Dylan and Haylee, Selena, Taylor and Devon; sister-in-law, Bernice Sack of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Esther, and his brother, Orval Sack.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Leslie A. Sack”s name to the American Cancer Society, 8317 Elderberry Rd., Madison, Wisconsin, 53717 or to a charity of one”s choice.
