I'm so sorry to hear Mr. Luehring passed. I was just talking with a friend from high school about our favorite teachers when I learned. I was with Mr. Luehring for all four years. First as a group of kids that got their own study hall because we couldn't behave and then by senior year as a TA for his gym classes. He was always so supportive of me and gave me the attention and opportunities that most teachers wouldn't. He made me love teaching others, even if it wasn't at school or in a classroom. We always had fun in our classes and he would call me "Deputy Dog" when I helped him teach. No idea why and I never saw the cartoon, but it's a memory that I will never forget. I think about the lessons I learned from him often in the after school and summer camp programs I run. All the best to the family. I'm sorry I missed the funeral to say goodbye properly.

Heidi and Alex......So sorry to learn about your loss. I will always remember what a great person Les was during the short time that all of us worked together on the design of your home. When Les found out that I played football at Madison West in the late 60's, he brought me a retired West football helmet. I will think of the Luehrings whenever I look at it. Best wishes.

I am shocked to hear of the passing of "Les". I was a colleague of Les's at West High for many years before retiring and would sometimes have to ask him to put an additional student in an already overfilled class. He always said yes. Many days at lunchtime I would walk and see him out running with the other male phy ed teachers. They would usually be laughing and joking about something. Less was a wonderful man, always optimistic with a good sense of humor. I am so sorry for your loss and hope that wonderful memories will help ease your pain.

Alex & Heidi- both Regina & I send our deepest of sympathies to you both in your time of sorrow. I enjoyed having many post basketball game conversations with him. So personable & genuine with every chat session. I know he will have a huge bucket of popcorn ready to go once basketball season arrives. He'll have the best seat in house looking down from Heaven. God Bless you both!

So sorry to learn of Chickie's passing. My condolences to all of the family. I have fond memories of Chickie. We Luehring boys had a lot of fun playing ball at the Tower Park next to Chickie's place on High St. in Mayville. Always will remember those times with cousin Chickie, my brother Brian, and cousins Johnny, Donny, and Billie. Also remember the great time we had up North in Presque Isle at Dan's cabin with our parents and all the Luehring cousins.

Heidi, Alexandra and family- I am so saddened by the passing of your husband and father. Chickie was one of the coolest guys I ever knew. Growing up, I want to be like him. In all my interactions with him, he was kind, funny and engaging to be around. I hope that God's love and peace will bring you comfort in this difficult time.
