Lillian S. Burnham, 92, of the Lutheran Manor Terrace, Wauwatosa and formerly of Horicon, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2014 at Froedtert Hospital.Lillian Sophie was born the daughter of Edwin and Sophie (Johnson) Steele on December 21, 1921 in Freemont, NE. She was a 1938 graduate of Fremont High School in Nebraska. She attended Midland College in Fremont, Nebraska and also the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE. She became an elementary school teacher and taught many years in Valley, Nebraska. On July 12, 1941, she was married to Stephen Jelinek who preceded her in death in 1962. She was later married to Robert Burnham on June 6, 1964 in Waukegan, IL. Lillian was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Horicon. She loved to play cards, especially Sheepshead and Bridge.Lillian is survived by her daughters: Janice Hagenbaugh of Charlotte, NC and Rebecca (James) Simon of Miami, FL; grandchildren: Stephen Mader, David Mader, Amy Hagenbaugh, Barbara Hagenbaugh, Jaclyn Kanarish, Deborah Simon and Daniel Simon; six great grandchildren including Lilly Ann Mader. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Stephen, second husband Robert, daughter Barbara Mader, her sister Stella Graves and three brothers: Floyd, LeRoy and Earl.Private graveside services for Lillian will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon, Wisconsin.
