Lloyd E. Klas, age 76, died Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.

Visitation for Lloyd will be at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 511 South Spring Street in Beaver Dam, on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church on Wednesday at 12:00 Noon and will be celebrated by Fr. Michael J. Erwin. Burial will be at St. Peter”s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Lloyd Erwin Klas was born on December 22, 1936 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Ervin and Helen (Kostolny) Klas. After graduating from Beaver Dam High School in 1955, he served in the US Air Force until 1959. On August 11, 1962, Lloyd was united in marriage with Carol Bohl at St. Peter”s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. He worked in the engineering departments at Metalfab for 22 years, Apache Stainless Steel for 5 years, as well as other metal fabricating businesses in the Beaver Dam area. Lloyd was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Klas of Beaver Dam; two children, Jerome (Becky) Klas and Jean (Michael) Kraintz; four grandchildren, Trevor and Gavin Klas and Aaron and Austin Kraintz; two sisters, Arlene Nowak of Beaver Dam and Barbara (John) Pitzlin of Juneau; a brother-in-law, Don Jaehnke of Texas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; his brother and his sister-in-law, Richard and Laura Klas; and two sisters, Carolyn in infancy and Patricia Jaehnke.

If desired, memorials may be made in Lloyd Klas” name to St. Katharine Drexel Parish or Hillside HomeCare/Hospice.

We, Kent's coworkers for the past 6 months or so, were so shocked and saddened by his passing. Kent was a wonderful man and a compassionate, effective therapist. He will be sorely missed by all of us at The Pauquette Center, and by his patients. We offer our deepest condolences to his family.

I worked with Kent for many years at the prison and I enjoyed our many talks. My sincere condoleneces to you all.
