Lloyd J. Pichekoske, age 86, formerly of Fox Lake, died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Visitation for Lloyd will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church in Fox Lake on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church on Wednesday, beginning at 11:00 AM. Fr. Michael L. Wild will officiate. Burial will be held at St. Mary”s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
Lloyd Joseph Pichekoske was born on February 17, 1922 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Charles and Mary (Speil) Pichekoske. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945 with the Combat Engineers 80th Division. Lloyd fought under General Patton in Germany, France and Austria. After his military service, Lloyd worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad and then he worked for Waukesha Motors for 25 years, retiring in 1978. Throughout his life, Lloyd enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a member of the Beaver Dam American Legion and the Sussex VFW. Lloyd was also a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Fox Lake, the Beaver Dam Eagles Club, the Knights of Columbus, and the Wisconsin Retirees Campers.
Survivors include his nephew, James Schmidt of Juneau, his great niece, Victoria Schmidt of Chicago, Illinois, a great great niece, Elizabeth Schmidt of Oconomowoc, a great great nephew, Michael Schmidt of Oconomowoc, great great great nephew, Mason J. Schmidt of Oconomowoc, other relatives and friends. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Lawrence Pichekoske, a special sister-in-law, Regina Pichekoske, a niece, Marlene Schmidt and a great nephew, James A. Schmidt.
