Lorraine A. Pieper, age 84, of Horicon and formerly of Juneau, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Winchester Place, her residence.
Visitation for Lorraine Pieper will be held on Monday, May 2, 2011 at St. John”s Evangelical Lutheran Church from 4-7 PM and again on Tuesday, May 3 from 10 AM until the time of the service. The service will be held at St. John”s Evangelical Lutheran Church at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Rev. Paul Schupmann will officiate. Burial will be in the Juneau City Cemetery.
Lorraine Ardis Sell was born on April 23, 1927 in the Town of Clyman, Dodge County, the daughter of Elmer and Frieda (Schultz) Sell. On December 1, 1945, she was united in marriage to Clarence Pieper at St. Peter”s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Grove.
Lorraine worked at the Hustisford Hospital and then later at the West Bend Aluminum Company of Hartford. Lorraine was a cheese maker with her husband and also was a welder at Maysteel for 18 years, retiring in 1985; she had also worked at Farm Rite in Juneau. She was very proud that she had made her own 16 foot boat. She was a member of St. John”s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Juneau, the Juneau Senior Citizens and a volunteer at the Bethesda Store, Horicon. She was an avid sports fan and also enjoyed Sheepshead and Bingo. She loved to play Marbles with her family.
Survivors include her nine children, Diane Schwoch, Wonder Lake, IL, Joanne (Bert) Rupnow, Watertown, Charles (Karen) Pieper, Poynette, Sherry (Harold) Drake, Juneau, Carleen (Loren) Kirchoff, Hustisford, Randall (Margaret) Pieper, Casa Grande, AZ, Denise (Kenneth) Kaulitz, Hustisford, Tim (Michele) Pieper, Juneau and Tammy (Dan) Kerrins, North Aurora, IL, 22 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, four brothers and sisters, Carol Krause, Clyman, Allen “Butch” (Shirley) Sell, Watertown, Romelle (Russell) Slade, Mesa, AZ, and Robert (Beverly) Sell, Mount Horeb, brother-in-law, Herbert (Joyce) Grulke, Green Bay, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lorraine was preceded in death by, her parents, her husband Clarence on May 16, 2008, a son, Troy, April 1965, a sister Janice Grulke, a brother, Virgil Sell, a son-in-law, Dean Schwoch, a sister-in-law, Wieda (Hilbert) Grulke and a brother-in-law, Walter Krause.
If desired, memorials may be made in Lorraine Pieper”s name to St. John”s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
