Louis A. “Louie” Steinbach died peacefully with family by his side at Hope Nursing Home in Lomira.He was born on February 3, 1933 in Fond du Lac to Gerhard and Ella (Koepsell) Steinbach. He was baptized on February 19, 1933 and confirmed March 30, 1947 at Immanuel Lutheran Church (River Church) in Mayville. Louie grew up on a farm east of Mayville and was a farmer all of his life. He married HanneLore Wittrock on May 30, 1992. They enjoyed visiting friends and playing cards. Louie loved football and baseball and was a big Cubs fan.Louie is survived by his loving wife, Lore; his sister-in-law, Mardell Steinbach; step-children: Brita Bandle, James (John Wittrock); nieces and nephews: Gary Steinbach (special friend, Beth Herman), Lorie Figel, Kenny Steinbach, Janice Walters (special friend, Clint Brummond), and Joyce (Kale) Peterman; other great nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Lisa Van Roy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Elmer Steinbach.Memorial services will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 1 p.m. from Immanuel Lutheran Church (River Church), Mayville with visitation held from Noon until 1 p.m. at the church.
