Lovine C. Schmidt, age 88, of Beaver Dam, died on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
Visitation for Lovine will be at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 511 S. Spring Street in Beaver Dam, on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 10:50 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Fr. Michael J. Erwin officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter”s Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
The former Lovine Carol Knorr was born on November 3, 1924 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Orville and Susanna (Dimel) Knorr. On September 27, 1941, she was united in marriage with Harold J. Schmidt at the St. Peter”s Rectory. They loved to travel and were able to retrace where Harold served in Europe during World War II. She travelled back to Europe on several occasion after Harold death in 1995. Lovine enjoyed fishing, swimming, and boating on Beaver Dam Lake; she also enjoyed playing cards and feeding the birds. She collected many animated music boxes which she used to decorate her home during different holiday seasons. Lovine was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish, formerly St. Peter”s Church, where she had been a member of the Catholic Women and the Rosary Society.
Survivors include her two daughters, Judy Tischer and Susan Machkovitz, both of Beaver Dam, her granddaughter, Bambi Lynn Tischer of Madison, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lovine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and eight brothers and sisters, Blanche Schueler, Dorothy Schmidt, Russell Knorr, Ruth Brigowatz, Roland Knorr, Lorraine Knorr, Orville Knorr, and Elaine Knorr.
