Marie M. Nast, age 89, of Beaver Dam, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Sylvan Crossings in Beaver Dam.
Visitation for Marie will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Sunday, December 26, 2010 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Sunday, beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at St. Peter”s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
Marie was born on September 8, 1921 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Edward and Gretchen (Kumba) Beers. She attended St. Peter”s Grade School and was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School with the Class of 1939. She was united in marriage with Charles S. Swain on April 14, 1945, Bernard G. Mohr on December 29, 1972, and Edwin W. Nast on November 21, 1987; all of whom preceded her in death. Marie was employed by Dr. A.W. Hammond and later by Paul M. Bergen, MD. During that time, she was instrumental in organizing the Dodge County Medical Assistants Society, serving on the county, state, and national levels of this educational organization. After Dr. Bergen”s retirement, Marie was employed by the Beaver Dam Unified School District as a secretary until her retirement in 1991.
Marie is survived by her son, Charles (Tina) Swain; three grandchildren, Charles S. (Jennifer) Swain, Seth Andrew (Angela) Swain, and Molly C. Swain; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Nast; two step grandchildren, Sara and Jacob Nast; six great grandchildren, Connor, Lauren, Abbie, Charles, Matthew, and Mallory; her sisters and brother, Jean Pirk and Edward Beers both of Beaver Dam, and Marjorie (Gerald) Butzler of North Fond du Lac; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, June (Fred) Johnston and Donald (Marie) Nast, both of Florida; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Steven Swain; a sister, Helen Kronenberg; a step son, Peter Nast; and a sister-in-law, Isyma Niemeyer.
