Marie M. (Bartell) Schuster, 91, of Deerview Meadows in Hartford (formerlyof Beaver Dam) died peacefully on January 1, 2015.Marie was born on September 27, 1923 in Beaver Dam to Frank P. and Eva (Louden) Bartell. She attended public schools in Beaver Dam, graduating from Beaver Dam High School. She was a graduate of the Mercy Hospital School Nursing, in Janesville, under the auspices of the United States Cadet Nurse Corps. She was a registered nurse working at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Wayland Academy, Beaver Dam Care Center, and provided nursing care. She was a member of St. Michael’s Rosary Society and an active church volunteer for many years. She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam, and Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon.On July 27, 1946, she married Frank John Schuster at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Together they raised five children. Marie enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family and church were most important in her life. She was accomplished as a seamstress, enjoyed needlework, gardening, reading, puzzles, and in the early years playing piano. Marie is survived by her children; Christine (Gerald) Bartosch of Fond du Lac, Wi, Anthony (Barbara) Schuster of Greenwood, SC, Margaret (James) Brindley of Glendale, Wi, Carol (Kent) Beecher of Bloomington, Il, and Nancy (Albert) Salzman of Kissimmee, Fl. She is survived by grandchildren; Todd Salzman, Melissa (Michael) Wilson, Tanya Salzman, Erin (Michael) Straza, Rebecca (Robert) Schatz and Victoria (Robert) Miller. Great grand-children; Elizabeth, Kimberly, and Jennifer Schatz; Peyton, Jacob, and Sydney Wilson; Melissa Fry, Annabelle, and Kendrick Miller; and Karissa Wagener. She is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marie is preceded in death by her husband , her parents, her mother-in-law and father in law, two brothers; Roland (Kathleen) Bartell and Harold (Jean) Bartell.The family extends thanks and appreciation to the Deerview Meadows staff for the excellent and sensitive care and attention that was given to Marie; to Dr. David Chen and staff at Aurora Advanced Healthcare in Hartford; and to Horizon Home Care and Hospice in Hartford.
